Need your help
Ok, here's what's happened. I've gotten my car running and charging finally. Today I had her out and she was running like a charm, had much more get up. She ran fine, idled fine, coolant was fine, wasn't burning oil. Everything seemed to be great with her. Well after having her out earlier today I took her out again tonight to go get my haircut and to wash her. She ran fine the whole way till after I washed her. I got onto the freeway, got into her a little bit, and boom, something happens. She starts chopping up and missing on me and ends up leaving me on the side of the road. I sit there for a little not sure what the hell just happened. After letting her sit I try to fire her up, and boom, she starts, acts like NOTHING ever happened. I drive her for about 4-5 more miles and same problem. Starts learching on me and stalls out. In the dark it appears that she might be burning rich, but in the open cool air it's hard to tell. But the inside of the exhaust pipes is black, which is an indicator of it burning rich if I'm not mistaken. But also pulling off my breather caps it looks like I'm burning some oil in there, unless I'm an idiot and that's going to happen? Anyways. My initial thinking was vapor lock. But then that made no sense since during the day when it was in the mid 70s it didn't do that. And it's 60 right now. Also... CAREFULLY looking into my carb I noticed that on a BRAND NEW carb, I'm only dripping fuel from the passenger side barrel. I tried to adjust the screw on the driver side, but turning it all the way out nothing would still come out of it. It doesn't look like it has for some time, but like I said, earlier the car was running fine.
I guess another question is, how far away from the block should a metal fuel line be to not cause vapor lock, if that's the case? Mine is a few inches away with the 351W

It's not vapor lock. My line runs right against my block and it's not a problem. You have a carb issue. If it's new, I'd pull it and take it back. You should get fuel equally out both sides. What happens if you run both screws in....one at a time?
The thing stays running if I put the driver side screw in or all the way out with no difference. I don't know about both though. I'd imagine it'd stall though. But a couple times it blew up through the carb though. Only like 3 times though. And why would this happen only at night after driving it all day with no problem.
