Default Exhaust cut outs

OK guys, don't bash just a question. Does anyone have em and do you like them? I loved the sound of my car when I had just the LT's on and would like to hear it every once in awhile. I know there is no real performance gain, but thinking about getting a set of electric ones, especially when a fart can rolls up by me. Wouldn't happen for a little bit though.

I think they're cool, I've been wanting to get the electric cutouts from QTP for awhile now, but have I've been getting side tracked with other projects. Check out their website. Click

Never liked being in a completely unmuffled car regardless of where the exhaust was getting dumped out at. With one exception.

I don't want it to be dead-quiet either, but there has to be some level of muffling. People in my segment of the automotive sport (autocrossing) have had the use of lots denied or revoked based on cars that are too loud, so I guess you would say I have a dog in this one.

That one exception? A few laps around the 1.5 mile Las Vegas speedway in a Richard Petty Driving Experience car. With a helmet and (IIRC) earplugs.

I'll be installing them one my 390. Just for the sole purpose to drown out the coffee can exhaust on these ricers. Also to drown out the stereos in these ricers as well.

The performance gain will come in handy at the occasional track runs too.

I have thought about this. I think it would be great to open and close them with a flip of a switch. I used to have cutouts on my other car but I had to get down and open or close them. Didn't know they existed at the time. When it was open nobody would rev at me or bother me, and every time it was closed it was the total oposite. Once I was at the light and another sports car rolled up and looked at me then reved, was I happy that I had my cutout open... rev right next to him and he shook and gave a little jump I just took off slowly laughing with my friend. It would be great to drive around enjoying the day, have a ricer next to you flip the switch(don't take more than 3 sec to open)and let he here the 5.0 rumble. But this will come once I am able to find me a donor car. So I guess I would say go for them.

Ricers? How about some side firing flame throwers. Turn 'em into puffed rice breakfast cereal!

Cut outs are cool, but I prefer them on a streetrod. You car, your choice. I say go for it if it is what you want. The electric ones are the way to go.
