X pipe or H pipe.
All other things equal, an X pipe will make slightly more power at higher rpm's. On a street car, especially one that doesn't rev past 5500 or so, the added power will be negligible. And honestly, I don't like the sound of X pipes on cat-less muscle cars. They give a higher pitched, slightly raspy tone to the exhaust.
I much prefer a good H pipe setup. The H pipe evens out exhaust pressures between the cylinder banks, allowing the engine to rev more freely and make slightly more power. It also mellows out the exhaust note, providing a nice even V8 tone rather than sounding like a pair of raspy 4 cylinders.
