Overflow bottles are standard equip, and even the aftermarket ones will fit. Perhaps someone will post a pic.

Good luck.

I went a head and put the overflow resevoir in it and the aftermarket actually fit good. I am going to drive it today and hopefully this should fix the problem. I know that I wont see any on the floor anymore but hopefully I wont see it on top of the radiator either since I clamped the hose and put a new cap on.

Should I put fluid in the overflow tank or since the radiator fluid is high would I be better off leaving it empty?

That is exactly the same one that I was using as a quick fix a while ago. You may want to invest in a bigger aluminum 3 core radiator with a better over flow. Mine still had the original radiator as I remember and was marginally sufficient in cooling the engine.

Make sure that your temp gauge is indeed working….

What is the psi rating for your new cap? If you have an overflow container you can go down to about a 13 psi cap. A 15 psi cap can keep in pressure and can blow a gasket out in an old stock motor.

I’ve included a nice overflow container that I purchased from NAPA myself.

Oh and props for AC and power steering I see from your pic…nice looking car!

Thanks. Its a 13 psi cap. I like your overflow a lot better than mine I may change it down the road but there are plenty other things to put the money into right now.. of course when isnt there?

I'm not sure what radiator you have but, some of the after market aluminum jobs take a certain cap. You may need to try a couple of different brands to find one that works. Also take note of the opening PSI as mentioned before as it will make a difference.

My buddy just made an overflow tank out of an empty fifth of Jack Daniels. he built a bracket and tapped a hole into the bottle... I need one and want to do the same thing.. It looks cool..

If you want, put some red food coloring in your coolant until it gets a carmelly patina and you can tell people you actually cool the car with Old No. 7.

OK j/k. that would be really dumb. I like the novelty bottle idea though.

Something to mention here. If you're going to run catch tanks you need a venting type rad cap (usually without a lever) if you want the coolant to return to the radiator after it cools down some. If you want just a overflow tank, the lever style vent is OK
