Default Too High???????????

Take a look at photos. Seems reflector is too high to me, but that's where the holes in the fender were.

Get the sandpaper out. The rear marker lights on a '68 line up with the bumper. Also, I thaought '68 marker lights were all rectangles with 90° corners, but I could be wrong. Your lens looks pointy at the ends.

There are images of your model all over the web. Check out Google images with "1968 Mustang" and you will see. Be sure that you check out several photos, since people make mistakes. Good luck.

I think they are all kinda pointy. Here's a perfect reference pic.

I shave the reflectors on my car and it looks like the location where they originally were. My car was an early model with the body painted bezel that was rectangular. Does your car have an indention on the quarter panel or is it flat. If it is flat you are using the correct light (after late February production IIRC) but if you have an indentation you are using the wrong ones.

Oops. I was wrong. Here is a picture of my car before I started to molest it. The light is way off.

Yeah man, those side reflectors are WAAAYY too high. You gotta do something about that cause that just doesn't look right at all.

+1 on shaving them altogether. I always thought the 68 side reflectors looked like something that Ford dragged out of the F-Series parts bin.

Fender is flat - no indents. Wonder what the holes were for to begin with?

Pre-Strike 68's have pointy oval shaped reflectors, post-strike 68's have square ones. Most of them are square though. But yeah, way too freakin high

I guess when the strike was resolved the auto workers didn't get their point across.

PS: Marker lights are a safety element, not decorative. I wouldn't recommend shaving them for a driver, but that's just me.
