I have my 66 insured through Travelers Insurance. It costs more than many Classic policies but it has no restrictions. About $350 a year & it has an agreed upon value of $17,800 for my car.
When I was checking Hagerty's etc, most had mileage or useage restrictions or I had to keep her in a locked garage (while I only have a carport).
I had to get her appraised & send them a lot of photos.

hagerty seems to be pretty good from what ive heard/read.

my '65 valued at $30k would be like $500/year and im only 23. The same car in my parents name and them being 50, it would be like $200/year.

I might look into switching to them next spring when the current insurance runs out, just gotta hope the 2 tickets that are non convictions dont matter as i dont think they will insure you if you have speeding tickets.

I had hagerty, and they are great. You set the value for you car and pay accordingly, which gives you a lot of flexibility. I was paying just over 1% of the value per year.

I went through a big nutroll with mine.
The problem I had with Hagerty and the other classic car insurance companies was that they SEVERELY limited when and where I could drive it. They stipulated that you can only drive to and from car shows and maybe the occasional Sunday drive.

That is dog squeeze since I don't go to any car shows except for the Turkey Rod Runs. Plus they wanted an appraisal, pictures, DNA sample, first born & a blood oath that I wouldn't drive it to Walmart. Ever. The lady at Hagerty told me straight up that if my car was damaged while I was driving to work or going to WalMart etc that they would not cover any damages.

Well hell, that pretty much turns it into a potted plant so I bypassed that bunch.

I went with Safeco. Agreed upon coverage of 25K with no appraisal and a limit of 3000 miles a year for about 350.00. 42 with no tickets in 15 years.

Ours is insured along with all our other daily drivers as such. Not the cheapest route, but I get to drive mine whenever I want.

I have Hagerty for my classic and Travellers for my DD. Travellers would not even talk to me about insuring my car, told me it was too old.

I'm going to have to call them again (Travellers).

Currently glad I insured through Hagerty though since I've driven it twice for less than 15 miles combined.

I will say they insured it for 15k (value) for $155.00.

When I get it closer to how I want it I'll pay more to drive it more often. Currently this keeps me in check and saves me more money to put into fixing it up.

I had Haggerty until I told them I modified the car and the rates increase 3x. Granted I doubled the amount of coverage. They wanted almost $1k per year with mileage limitations. I moved over to Grundy and am now paying just over $500 with no mileage limitations. I have it insured for $75k.
