Power brakes???
Just upgraded from the original (fruit jar) master cylinder to power drum with dual cylinder. The booster and cylinder came mated together but when I ordered front brake lines, they didn't fit into the master cylinder (to small) and also didn't realize I had to change the distribution block (porportioning valve). Any advice? Am I going to have to get and bend my own lines?
Yes you are going to have to bend your lines. There is a special tool for that. Check with the parts place to see if that have a bending tool you can borrow. Here is a good article you need to read about proper installation. http://www.mustangmonthly.com/howto/..._brakes_fords/

Thanks Soaring...that was helpful. I guess I have some work to do.

Thanks again Soaring. One more question. I have the dual chamber master cylinder now and the distribution block is obviously no use now. The original had one rear line coming in and two fronts and the one coming from the master cylinder for a total of 4. I need to have two from the master cylinder and I guess the rear and two front for a total of 5 ports. Nobody has them local, how can I assure I am getting the correct one online? Thanks guys.
Thanks Soaring...I read through this yesterday. I can't tell how many ports it has and what the easiest route to take is. I am trying to figure out how I can leave the lines from the the rear and front in place and just buy a block that has an extra input for the master cylinder. Any ideas?
Ok, you need 5 ports, right? 4 for going to your brakes, and one input for your master cylinder. Is that what I am understanding what you need? If so, let's us both do some more googling. I have seen pics and heard other mustangers who had to put the distribution box upside down to make it work. If there are any other members on here who can help, please chime in. From what I understand, is that the 1975-79 Granada proportioning valve will work great. Google those.......
5 ports is correct, however, It is one for the rear and one for each front and two from the master cylinder cause there is two coming out of the cylinder. It is only one for the rear because it splits off in the rear somewhere.
