Help needed installing rear view mirror, thanks.
Ok,
Just picked up a driver's side mirror for my 65 Coupe. My door is assembled and had its old mirror holes either bondoed or welded closed. So, I can't inside the door to look for where the holes should be, and I can't tell from the outside. I am a little concerned about it being bondo and me being a little off when I drill holes. The mirror might not hold if I only slightly overlap the old and new holes vs. getting it dead on.
No rush, but can a few of you with 64-66 cars send me some measurements as where I should mount the mirror?
----
Second question, I bought the black plastic mirror "pad", but I dont know which side is "up" on it. One side is perfectly smooth, and the other side has plastic ribs. The rib side might not work facing down as they stick out from the surface a little.
