Fuel line / Vapour lock?
I wanted to re-route my fuel line. I think that this is the problem. My car starts with the engine barely a turn over when it is cold. It runs great, timing is good and there is no hesitation when I stomp on it so I guess adequate fuel is getting to the motor. How ever, if I stop for a small period of time after the engine is at operating temperature (ie. to run into a store to grab something) and I try to restart, it will crank and crank and crank while I floor the gas for it to re-start. That led me to believe possibly that the gas in the hose is vaporizing from the heat…that and talking to a few friends in the local area.
My question is, given what I have presented, does this sound like a strong case of vapour lock? Also, I would like to know where I can re-route my fuel line to keep it a little out of the way of the heat from the block.
Thank you,
James
Oh and pictures!

that hose will def be causing some issues where it is located. also remember that the more heat cycles the more the hose will perish, so fire risk there too.
do you have a spacer under the carb...could be both fuel line and carb issue.
i'll post a pic of my setup. not the prettiest but effective!
