Default Seatbelt install

So I purchased my 65FB and the seatbelts were not installed. Granted there were seatbelts...just not attached. So I began looking at installing them and have come to the conclusion that I am going to have to pull the carpet and seats out to do this. Is this the case? If not please let me know so that I can save the time and trouble of pulling my interior more apart than it already is.

Don' think youll ahve to do any of that, jst cut a slit in your carpet big enough for the bolt to get to the mounting point.

Take an aul or nail and you should be able to probe the carpet in the suspect places to find the holes. It might be easier to find with the seats out though. Thought about 3 point belts???

Go from under the car, if you look along the tunnel you will find the tapping plates welded to the bottom of the floorpan use a sharp object to locate inside cut a nice hole with an excto knife. BTW I think if you pull the seat all the way foward I think you can get to the holes also use the correct bolt for the belts. The other hole is going to be in the sill near the "B" pillar you may have to pull the sill trim to find it.

I like to use a pencil soldering iron to melt the hole in the carpet. It leaves a nice clean hole and it seals the edges.

+1 here... add 3-point belts! The Wesco belts are nice. Just installed the roof brackets into our 67 last month. Bit more work then the 65/66 but they can be made to fit.

This is my first post. I recently purchased a 65 2+2. No seat belts in the rear. I would like to put some medium blue belts back there. Does anyone know of belt kits for a FB? What about the height of the belts? If you install them between the seat base and seat back, they would be 4 inches higher than the seat. I'm not liking this idea, because I want to be able to take my little ones for a ride. Any ideas?
