Default '65 Fastback Brakes

Ok the situation:
I just got a '65 Fastback 289, auto, matching #'s, all original as far as I can tell, oh and a/c haha.

My problem is figuring out if I should switch to front disc brakes or leave the drums in there. It will most likely be a Sunday driver. Any advice at all?

If it was going to be a daily driver I would say upgrade to discs, but being a weekend driver I could just leave it.

Also welcome to the forums.

you can easily swap to factory disk brakes and keep your spindles.

it would probably be about a $300 swap. its a HUGE uprage. we just did it on my dads 66 the other day.

Unless you like to drive fast and brake late, or you've got spare money, drums will be fine.

Making it disc doesn't detract from the value or orginality of the car?

no way it wont devalue the car.

if you put on a factory setup, it should make it worth a little more.

Isn't "doesn't detract" a double negative? I'm confused.

Yes.
It does not.

They made so many of these cars so cheaply and so quickly that there is very little you can do to lessen their value. Especially with bolt on stuff like brakes. If you decide to go disc and originality concerns you, save the pieces you take off.
