Default Side remote mirrors

Has anyone here taken them apart to clean and paint the inner case and behind the mirror? Any tips? I was told that they can be a real pain putting back together.

Pain in the butt to reassemble,But worth it. You can just use a lot of tape after you sanded them down and then you won't have to take them apart.
The only hard part of putting them back together is holding the little screw in the right place while turning the screw driver in a very tight place. lol

Correct. You have enough play to pull them out but do not remove the damn cables. Nightmare territory here.

Can the glass be purchased seperately? My whole passenger assembly fell out of the case somewhere on the way to work...
