Coolant overflow problem
After installing a new reconditioned radiator, we drove the car for approx 5
mile ride. Can ran OK temp wise except cooling water was pushed out the overflow hose on the radiator. I think a new 16-18 lb. cap should be installed. What do you guys think??

You need to install a coolant recovery tank, otherwise the coolant is expelled past the radiator cap and dumps on the ground. The tank has that hose from the radiator cap connected to the bottom and a vent hose on the top. When the engine comes up to temperature, coolant expands and pushes past the radiator cap and into the tank. As the engine cools the coolant is drawn back into the radiator. You also use the tank to top off your radiator.
I have a buddy that makes overflow tanks out of booze bottles. He just made one out of a jack daniels fifth. he took a pensil holder cut it and welded back together to fit the bottle and then bolted it the fender wall of his 69 Chevy truck and then ran his line to it.. I want one..
Here is the one I put in from advanced auto ($7). Not the prettiest but it was cheap and got the problem fixed (pretty much the same. coolant coming out of the tube onto the ground). Someone posted one from NAPA that was chrome and pretty nice. I'll change it eventually but I'll put the money somewhere else right now.

We need a photo... (Like you didn't see this post coming)
Don't get a plastic job. Everybody will wince when they see that as soon as you lift the hood. Get a nice stainless tube type that you can mount next to the radiator. They can be had for 25 or 30 bucks and look good. Nothing flashy or trashy.
I prefer the plastic ones like this one for $30, only because you can see how much fluid it contains. It doesn't look as cheap as the universal part store one and is far less expensive than most of the aluminum and ss ones:
