Default headliner advice????

Havent been on in a bit. Car is coming along quickly. I just ordered all new interior including a headliner, but have been cautioned that it is not an easy job at all. Any pointers would be appreciated!

it's actually not that bad if you take the back window out...mustang monthly I think it is has a good how-to on their website.

I hope not. everything is falling in line to allow for paint in a couple of weeks and dont want a headliner to throw a wrench in it!

Paint first with all the glass and trim out, then install headliner, and finally, install the glass. It is not that hard if you take your time to get it all pulled right and clipped in place before applying glue, small sections at a time. Granted, I did it on a fastback which is easier than a coupe, but I'm sure you can pull it off. Even if you mess up and had to pull it out a time or two, it is still much cheaper than hiring the job out.

Good luck!

Search the FAQ stickie for how to stuff on headliner

I did mine myself and it wasn't that bad, just take your time and you can get all the wrinkles out and make it look professional. I was 17 when I did it with no prior experience and its beautiful I must say, I would give it a mid grade A

Default lots of spring clamps

I did my son's 68 coupe and it turned out really good (1 small wrinkle in the corner). You need about 20 cheap spring clamps to hold it in place and take them off one at a time and glue each spot and put the clamp back. I had a book called "Mustang interior restoration Guide". It was helpful and available from most mustang parts suppliers.

I just did it last weekend myself. follow the mustang monthly directions and it is not bad at all. lije dude said above take your time and do small sections at a time. it really is not that hard. also, i used mustang monthly for the windshield and the back window. Easy. YOU WILL NEED A HELPER THOUGH.
buy at least two tubes of window chualking. i used just over a tube on each windo. Then iused goof off to clean up. It is a little messy though. I felt safer cleaning up with goof off other than laquer thinner like the article states

Thanks everyone. I decided not to budget to hire it out and will give it a try. Besides, the 350 bucks I would have spent bought my front valance and spoiler... Thanks again!
