I have a 289 in my 67 FB and recently rebuilt my heater.....I am not sure which hose hooks up to the water pump etc....top or bottom. I had this info written down but cannot locate.

Really doesn't matter other than to help purge the air. But the illustration in my FSM (section 16)shows the top H hose goes to the choke housing and water pump and the bottom H hose goes the IM port.

It does actually matter as it helps keep air out of the heater core, ensuring that it will work properly when you want it to.
