Default Need front valance help

I just heard the worst sound. My brand new fiberglass Front valance broke. (just in a small spot, but bad enough) Has anyone installed one? This accepts the stock bumper. It just doesnt act like it belongs there. The air channel is jammed up against the radiator / ac and it doesnt want to line up with either fender.

Post some pics of the fit and break. Hard to tell without seeing. I do recall someone who installed one of the modified fiberglass valances last year and posted about how long he had to work with it to get it to fit.

The break will only require some resin, I am told now I have to trim to account for my AC ... How can I post pics. It wants a URL, and they are on my computer???

You have to cut the darn thing. I found that out the hard way also. It took me over 10 hours to put it on. I have some pics of the area it hit my 67. I had to take off the bumper and bumper supports also.

I had to cut the fiberglass to make this piece fit. It is part of the hood lock.

a 4 1/2" angle grinder with a 60 grit flapper disk is your best friend when working with these fiberglass panels. You can trim and install it in about 2 hours with a great fit. The biggest challenge is getting the fenders, headlight buckets, hood, and front valance all lined up and looking good. And then of course, are all of the pin holes in the fiberglass gel coat!

I too got rid of all the hood latch components and went with hood pins when I did my 68. My fiberglass valance wasn't a good fit either. I had to trim spots. Be careful when tightening your bolts. The tabs on my valance didn't mate up to the cars anchor points. Tighten them a little at a time. You may hear cracking sounds as you tighten your bolts as I did. Don't panic. Use a heat gun if you have to on the tabs. I tightened one of mine too tight too fast and it broke off. They are just resined to the valance. I used Gorilla glue to fix it and it's been there ever since.
