take a look at http://www.martzchassis.net its a good front end. basically a mustang II front suspension eliminates the need for your shock towers. Otherwise the shock towers would be in the way of your very wide engine. IMO i would just look at building a badass 347.

Why a big block in your little Mustang? A properly prepared small block will produce great horsepower without all the surgery and stress on the body.

with a 347 how much room is left to do things such as spark plug changes and header installs/swaps? i was told not too much and thats why i was considering a front end swap plus i want to make sure the car can handle a corner well. thanks again

There is plenty of room for a 347. It is a stroked 302 and uses the same amount of space. As for cornering, a big block in a '66 Mustang gives you about as much cornering ability as a fat woman in a wheelchair.

Front and rear sway bars will make it corner more flat (or bigger ones with polyethelene bushings if you have them already). Performance tires with
shorter sidewalls (low profile) make a big diff too. If you can afford larger diameter rims, you can get even lower profile tires, which will make a huge difference. Ride quality begins to suffer if you go too far though.
To improve steering without going R&P, check all the tyrods and idler for loosness. Check your steering box, it may need a rebuild if too much play (it made a big diff in mine). For quicker steering, you can also get a box with a quicker ratio.
A smaller diameter steering wheel will also make your steering feel more quick, but your other parts need to be good first.
