Default fiber Glass v/s Bondo

Whats the propper procedure?? If im doing metal work, lets say filling a hole or patching a pannel, would you use fiber glass (resin?) as a filler or bondo or another type of filler? What is the procedure to do it? I may be questioning my body guy and want to be correct if Im going to argue the point?

Would you be using fiber glass?

He says he likes to use it instead of bondo over a patch, any clue why?

And I do mean as a filler over the metal work that gets done, not just patch a hole with bondo.. Patch with a metal patch and then finish with bondo or glass.

In my research I have found;

Fiber-fill is for gaps/patches/holes and whatnot. Fiber contains fiber glass strands that make it MUCH stronger than a filler.

Regula filler is for smoothing surfaces, not patching or anything else.

You can use fiber fill to get the shape your after, and smooth it out with filler.

i beleive what he is referring to in the OP is actual fiber glass where its a matt and tehn resin is poured over it.

fiber fill bondo is different. they also have a "metal" bondo as well thats silver

Well, filler would be the only answer. You say this is just to smooth out a metal patch. There should not be enough fill required to use the fiberglass patch if the metal patch was done right.
