Default Should I sell my 1968 Mustang?

Someone offered to buy my 1968 Mustang for $1,000 that my mom has had since it was brand new. The buyer says that it is nearly impossible to find original parts and if I fixed it up, it would cost much more than it would ever be worth. I wonder why he would even want the car if that was the case. Can someone give me some help?? The car has a 302 engine and needs to body work, but its something I'm willing to put the money into in a few years. Should I sell it?

I wouldn't sell it. Your mom bought it or got it new, now you have it. Keep it in the family.

It's your mom's car man are you crazy? Laugh at the buyer and tell him you won't part with it. Fix it up, you will never let yourself live down selling it if you do. I say keep it.

The buyer is a liar AND an *******. You can buy 99.9% of parts for these cars for dirt cheap. As long as it is not a basketcase car, its worth more than this.

Is it a coupe, convertible, or fastback?

What a load!!!!! You can buy good reproduction parts for nearly every part of that car...pretty cheap. You can buy NOS (New Old Stock) which are parts still new which were never sold (expensive) and you can buy a "donor" car to take parts off of. Parts for that car are available EVERYWHERE!
Just browse to nationalpartsdepot.com, johnsmustang.com, californiamustang.com for a sampling of what you can get. Those are only a few of many parts suppliers for these cars. The members of this forum can and will give you all kinds of help with information on how to fix the car.
KEEP THAT CAR!

If you want a classic AND have the time, desire, money and patience, keep it. If not sell it for its real value which unless it's a complete POS is much more than $1,000.
