I installed a TCP manual rack in my project. I havent had it down the open road yet but it is yard driveable. It takes quite an effort to turn the wheel, especially when stopped. I hated the factory power steering , absolutely zero road feel. I'm pleased with my choice but it's not for everyone. If you want a car that's easy to steer you will need the power steering. Avoid the Flaming River rack at all costs, it has a terrible reputation, the main complaint being major bumpsteer. I here good things about Randalls power rack.

There are advantages to R&P, like smoother steering, more feedback (especially with p/s), and a lighter design.
