WOW, that's friggin robbery. I had my rotating assembly balanced for $175, and quotes I got from other shops were all around that price. I'd start asking around for quotes.

Your also in CA where there is a lot of competition. Eastern Canada there isn't and machine work simply is expensive. Boring out the cylinders, deck planning, Crank turning & polish, resize holes and ARP rod bolt installation, bearings, hot tanked and maged the block, balancing, shot peening the rods and assembly of bottom end. Gonna cost about 1100.00 I figure and that is getting a deal on some things unfortunately.

Hm, as a **********, that's not bad. I still think you should consider heaving someone down here build the rotating assembly and balance it for you, then have it shipped up. It might still be cheaper.

Edit: Wow, I can't say coll ect ive. Interesting.
