Engine Questions...
I have a 67 Mustang that has a 289 in it...
10 years ago the engine was rebuilt completely...i drove the car for 4 years after that putting 30-40,000 miles on it...approx...the car has since sat for 6 years...the 2 years after being parked the engine was started and ran but since has not...still turns over good by hand...my question is whether or not i should rebuild it or if i can just get away with putting in new gaskets, changing plugs, wires, coil, etc....thanks for the input

I would change the oil (rotella), spark plugs (use standard autolites) plug wires, points, and fluids. Poor a let marvel mystery oil in too. Turn the crank by hand to make sure to lubricate everything some. See if you can get it to fire and idle.
If you get the car started let it idle for 15 min rev some here and there. Checking timing, idle speed, fuel mixture. Maybe low rpm cruising for 30 min. Change oil again. Pull plugs and look at them.
If it runs okay and after first oil change looks good do a compression test. Again if all looks good run it.
**If you want to be really sure pull the pan before trying to get it started too**
