What type of car are you talking about? A Mustang with no engine trans or suspension is not that heavy. BTW that wood body cart went on a 100+ mile round trip plus on and off a trailer twice. The cart and the body were on the trailer of course.

Lightbulb car carrier

If this is what you are asking, I know of one idea. My boyfriends dad actually needed on and I have used it a couple time. He got a used car carrier (the one with all four wheels off the ground) at U-Haul. He said that there are some U-Haul rental centers have trucks and car carriers for sale, some of the old, used rental equipment. I hope that helps!

I made one out of steel, it held my car with everything on it - engine, trans, full suspension. If you live in or near enough to okc to come visit I would be happy to show it to you.

I made it out to 2" square tubing, I put four pieces standing upright, tied those together with four horizontal pieces, and on top of the verticals I put a 4"x4" plate on the top. Through the middle of that plate is a pin that sticks up maybe an inch or two. Those four pins line up with the holes in the body on the front torque boxes and on the rear subframe. I put all of this on some 2,000 lb (each) casters that lock. It puts the top of the drip rail about eye level with me, so its kinda pain to get it on the dolly, but after you do it makes working on it alot easier. The only thing that I dont really like about what I made is that it is non adjustable, so a mustang is pretty much the only thing that it fits.
