Lightbulb Coil Overs on a 65-66'

Has anyone every tried to put coil-over adjustable shocks on the front end of a 65-66? I really want to remove the coil springs and need new shocks anyway. I really think it would work but..... Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

just about all mustang parts suppliers sell coil over kits

are you talking about just replacing the shocks and springs with coilovers? i dont think there is a kit that does that

most of the kits i have seen replace the control arms spindles and everything

I've seen those kits but Koni and a few others made regular coilovers and yes, I think it would work taking the stock spring and shock out and replacing them with the coilovers. Just don't know if I would be the guinea pig or if someone else has done it. Thanks for the quick reply and help!!

What you're talking about can be done, but it's halfassed. Half of the point of a coilover in a classic Mustang is to move the lower coil mounting point to the LCA for increased leverage. Installing a coilover that mounts to the UCA can be done, and there are kits out there that do it, but IMO it's not going to be much of a benefit aside from allowing you to adjust the front springs a little. You're much better off installing a good set of shocks, springs, a set of roller perches, and doing a Shelby drop.

Yeh, I know what you mean. Just trying to save some bucks in this stupid economy. Spent too much money this year so the boss (wife) wants me to be frugal. Thank you guys for your help and have a safe Holiday season.
