Looking at a 1966 Coupe
Howdy, I am looking at a 1966 coupe and wanted to get the experts opinion. It has a I6/3 spd, with just over 28K orginal miles. According to the guy selling it, it has been sitting in a garage for years and was just started a few weeks ago for the first time in 2 years. It has been repainted to a pearl white color. Everything else is original, with a recent tune-up and brakes. There are a few apparent rust bubbles. He is asking $5700 for it right now, but keeps dropping the price as time goes on.
What do you guys think about this deal? I briefly looked it over, but not in depth. If I decide it will be worthwhile, I will look at in more in depth. Any pointers on anything special to look for.
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

take a magnet to the whole car to check and see how much bondo there may be. also, pour some water down the cowl to see if thats rusted through (if water comes down onto the floor, its rusted through). also just look over the floors, trunk, frame rails etc etc very carefully. take some pics if you can and post em up on here
also remember that if you ever do decide you want a v8 it is expensive since you need a new whole drivetrain
good luck!

I'm selling my 66 Coupe in a VERY similar condition but a more desirable color combo (at least IMO) of Raven Black on Red interior (originally, now is red on red) for $4500 and it has a rebuilt engine AND transmission with a Hurst shifter....
$5700 seems very high.
