Its an Old Air products package. It ended up costing $1091.48.

 

$1k for what was probably like a $30 option from the factory.

 

"The priciest single option was air conditioning at $283 "

Was the most expensive. In fact, I think adjusted for inflation it is cheaper now.

 

From an inflation calculator:

"What cost $283 in 1965 would cost $1841.91 in 2007. "

 

That is a nice kit, I wish I had one for the summer time.

And with that inflation calculator apparently an average basic 289 mustang which cost around 2-2.5k would cost you around 14-15k today. Hell a '69 Boss 429 would only cost around 25k.
