Default Tri-Bar Halogens - Question

I bought some Tri-Bar Halogen headlights today from Mustangs Unlimited and I put one in (I have to go get some screws for the headlight bucket) and it seems like it's brighter than my stock light on the other side but it doesn't have a blue-ish look like it's supposed to. It has the blue center piece that reflects the light or whatever but is there a reason? They were only $100 (sale - normal was $150) so are they just cheap? Is it because I only have 1 in right now and it's mixed with a normal light?

Sorry for all the questions, I was just kind of dissappointed lol.

I also got/installed a 140A chrome alternator!

You can buy those for almost half of that.

You might try putting in the other light. If that doesn't work email MU and ask about them.

Could be your wiring, classic Mustangs are notorious for dim headlights. This site gives a pretty simple tutorial on how to bypass the wiring harness to get more current to the headlights:

My tribars came with a white bulb.

I think if you want blue, you'll have to get a different bulb.

This may or may not help in your case.

Since I replaced mine I am a big fan of electronic voltage regulators. With no moving parts like the old ones my lights are brighter and don't flicker. This may give you move power to your lights at a consistent level?

If you are reffering to the center dot that you installed, I have found that the dot does nothing for the color of the light. it is only a small detail thing.

if you are looking for that Ice blue look then you will need to buy some bulbs. you can get colored halogen bulbs at any parts supplier.

Keep in mind, blue headlights aren't legal in most places.

They're also not as bright as a standard halogen because to get that blue look they either use colored glass for the bulb or paint it blue. In either case it reduces light output. You're better off getting silverstar ultras or something and living without having the modern blue look to the headlights.

You could also go the HID conversion kit route, but those are also technically illegal. Don't do that though, you'll be blinding oncoming drivers because the reflection housings in those tri-bar lights you got are not designed for HIDs and they will not have a good beam pattern.
