Sound deadener on the cheap.
Thought I would pass this along. I know they are several speciality products on the market and they all have their claims on what they do and how well they work. My problem is, I just don't want to pay their rediculis price. So here is my sound deadening technique that I have used in the past that has worked "VERY" well and will not cost you a second mortgage. Course they don't want you to know this.
This is the mat that is from Lowe's and is less than $4.00 a linear foot and is 3 foot wide and about 1/2" thick. Put on a piece of sheet metal and give it a wack and you will see how well it works. Cost for the car was about $30. It forms easy with a heat gun and kills the viberation of the metal, also it will add some R value. For under the sub enclosures, I used good ole foil lined 2" fiberglass insulation (cost $10) with a little contact glue to keep it in place. I also plan on installing the grey mat in the doors and fiberglass in the roof but have'nt made it that far yet. So for about $40 and a little time, it will be done.

Its on a roll in the flooring dept and is used as "anti-fatigue" matting. Its appears to be a closed cell foam (EVA?) and is fairly heavy. The laminate flooring pad does'nt even compare in weight or density.
ive used this before and it works great and is very cheap!!! http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...516&lpage=none
ebay used to have a replica dynamat product,...i purchased 200sq/ft for i think 70$ shipped, and compared to dynamat, it was just about identical...worked great,...i did just about every inch of my last car,...and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
