Reason I ask is this is where im at right now, motor and interior out to have floor pans done and a new motor coming in. Im trying to take advantage of the situation and get things done now while it is easier.

Actually, if the 67 is like the 65 while the interior is out get in the back and clean out the area where the bottom of the quarter joins the top of the rocker on the inside. Unless, of course your floor pan replacement already involves that area.

Put sound deadener in the interior.

yeah, with all the rust you run the risk of getting tetanus.
