Some inspiration for you. Some day your sig will shine like this. And for you other guys...yes, I know the bumper has a kink in the center. I have not decided if I want to try anything with that. That is the original bumper and guards and you can see they are nearly perfect. It even has the original sticker from the dealer who sold it in 1965 (faded, but there). I'm afraid to hammer on the kink, even with a rubber mallet.

Come on Honeygold, that looks like poop on a white horse. Just kidding. You better get that bumper fixed or replaced.

Considering that the alternative to hammering it into place is to leave it like that I don't believe you have much to lose. It seems you have come too far with your project to leave it like that. I think you can straighten it out fairly easily and worse case senario you have to go repro, I myself couldn't leave it as is.

It's almost worth buying a cheap Harbor Freight press, using it to straighten that bumper, and then selling the press.

I was thinking a press was the way to go. Maybe I can get a machine shop to do it for me.

I agree, a press and a 2X4 should do it.

You can probably take the bumber to a re-chroming shop, they re-straighten almost any bumber and re-chrome. You can take yours there and just ask if they can take out the kink but not screw up the chrome or anything. If they can re-straighten really bad bumpers then re-plate them, I'm sure they can re-straighten yours without a problem and without messing up the finish.

The low angle and the reflection made it look worse than it really is. I can live with it since the exterior of this car (except paint) is original. This is what it really looks like.
