66 coupe - center console

Default 66 coupe - center console

Hi,

is this normal that center console is shaped differently on one side ?

it looks like this:
on the upper image the line is straight above screw slots, on the lower one it's not. Why is that?

Yes it's normal for the drivers side to be shorter. If you place it in the car you can see the console doesn't sit centered due to the shifter, it sits to the passenger side more. I had a console from a coup and bought a template to cut it for a convertible and had the hardest time to start cutting until I could see why the sides were not the same.

great, thanks. I knew that convertible needs some trimming and that is why I thought I got one for conv. I can get myself to repaint it and install in my coupe!
