Default Rear 65 Fastback vent windows

Anyone have any advice on the instalation of the rear vent windows on a 65 Fastback, as far a sealing? Parts are almost completely unavailable for this part of the car. I would have thought that there was some kind of gasket to seal out mosture where the actual white metal vent attachs onto the car. Any specific sealing products or techniques tha anybody recomends?
Thanks in advance.

The seal is between the inner slider and the body. According to the body assembly manual, there is no gasket or seal between the outer vent housing and the body. IF water were to get behind the outer ven, it would drain out through the drain hose which empties out the bottom of the car.

For the seal on the inner plastic sliders, use 3M rope seal. Spend the $18 and get the body assembly manual. It shows you how to seal all parts of the body.

Thanks Got hand. I would have thought they would have some kind of seal. Some one told me to just use seam sealer.
What is the name of the manual? I have been using the Mustang restoration guide, but it really does not show much.

That's the one. I bought it and the interior guide when doing my fastback because I bought it in pieces and wasn't exactly sure how some of those same pieces were assembled. I wish I had had them when I did my coupe years ago as they give detailed info such as adjusting the roll-up windows, details on bolts/fasteners, seam sealer, etc. Well worth the money.

Looks great! Thanks again. I hope to have my car done by the end of summer.

Sealing the outer vent to the body might not be a bad idea as this water contributes to the rusting that occurs down there if the hose is fubar.
