Are you talking about the vacuum valve on the heater hose, the vacuum duct selector switch or what? Post a picture and location if you can.

i'll try and get a pic soon, but for now the best i can say is not the control on the driver's side and not the valve in the engine compartment. these motors/actuators are mounted on the heater box itself and have vacuum lines going in them. perfect example is the one you see under the dash on the passenger side. i feel that these may be faulty or even the switch under the dash that is mounted on the heater box itself. i believe it is some vacuum switch because it has a line goin in and out leading to the valve in the engine compartment. this leaks air/vacuum as i can hear it when the car is on so my heat problem is definitely vacuum influenced. pictures will be up soon.
