Default 3 shoe'd pony

Grrr, I'm flustered! I bought a wheel kit the other day, and then also paid a local shop for nice tires and road force balancing. I pick them up today and they said 3 were good but 1 was defective. So, I have to call the company I bought these from tomorrow and see how they choose to handle the situation.

Hopefully they will send me a new wheel free of charge, and not want the old one returned (return shipping fees!). Hell, it'd be a super nice spare.

It's not terribly uncommon for wheels to be out of round, especially 'economy' wheels.

They said it had wobble is the lip, or something. I'm not going to try to qoute them becuase I am no wheel expert, but I they are the only shop in the area that I trust with wheels. They do excellent work, and if you don't know what a road force balancer is, it is pretty sweet equipment...

They said they could mount it on the normal mounting machine, but it would probably have a vibration.

Was "Wheel Vintiques" the manufacturer? I had a similar problem with my Mag 500 (14x7 though) last summer. The tire place told me all four were refurbished and not new, which I thought was strange, but I guess I didn't research the manufacturer enough.

In the end, I never had it replaced or researched the refurb vs new claim. The wheel works fine for my non everyday or non race uses. My car shutters like its entering warp speed at speeds north of 70 anyhow...

Just thought I'd share. Good luck with your issue.

Wheel Vintiques is the manufacturer, but I did not buy it from them directly. If the company I bought them from chooses to not resolve the situation, then I will tell you who that company is so people will be aware of their products.

I should call today, but im on campus and then im going straight to work. Ubnfortunetly will have to wait till Monday.

Worse come to worse, I will try to keep the wheel, but I didn't just drop 1300$ in wheels and tires to have defective parts.
