Default 5 lug conversion question

okay so i might be purchasing a 66 6cyl and just like everyone i want to do the 5 lug conversion. would i be able to use the front off a 68 to put on the 66 or would i only be able to use the 65 66 fronts? is there a kit to do this?? what all is needed to do the 5 lug in the front? i plan on swaping a 9inch for the rear so i wont worry about that. thanks

If you can and should if you haven't bought one yet find an original 8cyl car. With the sagging economy more people are looking to get rid of their toys and project cars for cheaper. It will be cheaper and worth more in the long run if you do find a factory V8 5 lug car. They are still plentiful and cheap, especially with the 65-66 body style, browse craigslist or autotrader classic. Save alot of headache.

It will save you money and the pain in the long run. Usually if you live in the lower 48 its worth it.

Most spend a avg of 3 grand to do this swap you can buy a v8 coupe for that.

i never looked at it that way.

i got the CSRP front disc brake conversion at around 650 quid.
This will give you 5lug and discs including a new dual master cylinder.
One of the best upgrades I did and i don't see a reason why they wouldn't work on 6cylinder cars as well ?!

I believe the poster wants to leave in the inline 6 cylinder, so I don't see how it costs 3grand
but then at the same time, if you leave the 6cylinder in there, why would you bother with a 9" rear ??? why not find a 8" rear from a junker
I
let us know a bit more of what you currently have and what exactly you want to end up with
