Default Fuel pressure, 5psi?

Installed a Mr. Gasket electric fuel pump that was pushing 7+ psi to the carb so just put in a Holley pressure regulator and turned it down to around 5 psi. Any thoughts on the optimal psi?

I'd recommend 6-7psi.

What carb do you have?

If it is an Edelbrock, 5-6 is the most I would run. If it is a Holley or Holley clone, 6-7. If it or they are Webers, 3-4.

Holley 650. I have it set right now at 5. Fluctuating from 7-10+ is no fun to drive around in. I guess I should have said, I'm trying to put a few miles on the motor before changing fluids and then finishing up some work like redoing the exhaust, rear axle, and msd box. Once all that's on I'm taking it down to get the carb dyno tuned.
