Cool What Blast Media to Use

I bought a 10 gal blasting pot to blast paint and rust off the door jams, interior metal on doors , back seat panels, underhood, engine compartment, suspension parts etc. For you restorers out there what is the better media to use?

I am going to blast my headlight buckets, headlight doors, and some other things tomorrow night at a friends house. He said for things like I'm doing that walnut shells work really well. He used to do concourse restros on Mustangs so I guess I'll take his word on it. Takes the paint off and does not hurt the metal underneath.

I wouldn't do the interior panels except for soda blasting maybe. They are textured so you might lose the detailing. For mine I just used a wire cup brush on a grinder.

I bought bags of medium git media sand IIRC. It was a white sand from Lowe's. I just opened the corners of a couple bags until I found the consistency that I liked. I had no problems with it removing the texture from my dash or any other part of the car.

The dash isn't textured just the doors and rear panels are.
