Default First Day Back Out (w/ pics)

Unfortunately all Mustang projects get placed on hold during football season for myself. The first big project I wanted to tend to was more cutting and buffing. Here is the end of about a months worth of work.

My Goal was to get the Metallic Flake Effect to pop more. I ended up having one more coat of clear shot on the car. I took my time with the cutting and made sure every square inch was covered for peel. I would say the car is 98% free of peel now. There were a few spots I did not want to risk going through the paint so I will just have to cope with it. Over all, the car looks like a completely different color in the light now.

Im extremely happy with the out come.

Great work!
What did you use to buff the tight areas like in the door jams or headlights?

I used a small power ball and lots of elbow grease in the tight spots. For the the rest just your every day PC with foam pads.

(most of the major buffing was done with parts off the car)

I was most surprised on how much yellow flake came out. Its almost like the car was completely repainted.

That looks very nice. I have one question though, Is that a base coat/clear coat paint? I was under the impression that the clear must be painted on within a day of the base coat. I heard there was a product that could be painted on the existing clear to soften it up and allow the new clear coat to bond. Otherwise the new clear coat would most likely peel off within a matter of time.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, while not normally big coupe fan, that color w/ the vinyl top is about the best looking coupe I've ever seen. Very nice!
