Default whats this part for?

hey guys. i was wondering what this electrical connection was for. Ive already run the brake switch wires and im left with this connection that i disconnected on the original wire harness. the aftermarket harness didnt indicate any connections that had to go here. can someone please explain.
it has something to do with the brake system.

It's for the brakes. It's called a proportioning valve. You may not have a electrical connection to it unless you have an Idiot light for the brakes in your dash.

lol, i knew what that part of the brake system was, but i didnt know what the electrical connection was for. ok so can anyone describe how the idiot brake light would work. this sounds like something i may want to hook up in the dash.

on a side note, i put the aftermarket check engine light in a nice spot on the dash. i went with all aftermarket gauges, so the original dash warning lights are not used.

12 volts posotive to the bulb and the ground from the bulb attaches to the post on the switch.

Thie needs to be centered for the light to work properly. It will move if there is a difference in pressure and activate the light (burst hose, leak in circuit, yada yada). Most often its not, and the brake light stays on and its usually unhooked. If you are going to do it right, it will need a rebuild and centered after the brake system is correct, IMO some o-rings and a good cleaning will do the job.
