Mustang radio bezels do not have a straight across mount,. they have an Offset mount and any aftermarket radio to be mounted in these bezels will have to have the special offset shafts.

I would go with one of those new special Mustang decks.

I does accomodate the offset left ****.

Alternator upgrade will depend on the sound system you decide to run. If you have a separate amp, then yes, I'd probably recommend switching to a higher output GM or Ford style alternator.

I've got the custom autsound also. Only have had a short period of time but bought anyway even after hearing negative posts. Just wanted to have something more original looking. Hooked up to center speaker I got from NPD it's a 6x9 with 2 tweeters and a left and right channel. I'm running a stock alternator. Would not worry about upgrading unless you plan on putting in an amp or powered subwoofer.

Started with the thought that I would just put center speaker and be done with it. But ended up putting 6x9s in back to give more overall sound. Just recently added 4 1/2s into special kick panels. But I'm the type that can't leave well enough alone. Have not had unit long enough to discuss longevity - I'm fine with sound but I'm not a big stereo guy.

Thanks again, great info.

Still nobody out there using the Custom Autosounds Undercover speakers? Do they even fit under the seats?

I use a custom autosound USA-630, used to use a USA-6 until i fried it

anyways if you want good sound i suggest putting an 4 channel amp and powering the speakers through that. Very easy to wire under the carpet.

btw my 60amp alternator held up fine for 2 years on my 160watt rms amp and radio that is with my electric fan on all the time

now that i have upgraded my speakers and amp it cuts out

so it all depends on how powerful the system was
