Check out my website.

If you like reliability, better fuel economy, and better performance..... it's worth the effort.

This can be an affordable, or an incredibly expensive mod, depending on the approach. If you do it using all the Ron Morris adn Mustangs Plus conversion parts, plus new components, and you're talking 7-8 grand.

By making stuff yourself, making your own wiring harness, buying used and ebay parts, you can do this for a third of that.

Sooo... looking at your page its not as simple as the article makes it look?

the article makes me think i can slap on the intake, mass airflow and new valve covers
hook up a wiring harness

then add an electronic fuel pump.

The closer you stay to a stock 5.0L build, the cheaper it will be. A performance build will cost you more since you'll be getting less from u-pull-it yards and more new or from ebayers unloading their performance parts as they keep chasing the HP.

In my case, I already had a new Ford Racing 345hp crate motor, so the stock intake, MAF and 19# injectors weren't going to cut it. Instead of going to my pick and pull and taking my pick of parts from several availabe donor vehicles, I had to spend a bit more effort and money gathering the parts. That said, I was able to get most of the parts at a great discount off of Ebay (Accufab throttle body, Explorer intake, ProM MAF, new Ford Racing 24# injectors, etc.). I did 'splurge' on the Ron Morris fuel system and the aftermarket wiring harness. Spendy as they were, they do work flawless and provided for a no-brainer install.

Oh yeah, James is spot on regarding the benefits of the EFI. Finally got the time to finish dialing mine in and it's working great.

- slap on their 700 harness
- slap on their 400 fuel system
- Gotta buy a computer and mount it
- Gotta buy the engine parts (intake, sensors, fuel rail, injectors, distrbutor, coil) Do you want used stuff?

I believe I did the whole efi motor install cheaper than the MP way....

Thanks... im just thinking out loud about my setup.

i have the 289 block, plan on getting all that stuff anyway from craigslist, ebay

do you know of any other sites that outline the 289 conversion, instead of the complete engine swap?

thanks
