Default Help with engine ID

I bought a 66 mustang from a guy who deployed and he threw in an engine. Yep you guessed it, i have no idea what kind of engine it is. Every site i've been to for casting numbers says there's supposed to be a letter (C=1960) followed by a number (8 for 1968). however the numbers on the top back of my block are cb18-102. Nowhere can i find a reference to a CB. Can anyone help?

David.

You should post this in the classic section for they would be your best bet.
The numbers dont sound right though. Look for some other number castings.

Most fordcasting numbers are on the side of the block
c is for the 60s
d is for the 70s
e is for the 80s

looks like your motor is a 1980 casting full size ford line

The "EOAE" represents its a 302 made somewhere between 1980-1982. Hope this helps
