Default Insurance

What insurance do you guys use on your mustangs? We had alfa, but we are going with a collector car insurance. Hagerty wants around $180 a year for the mustang since it is modified. What other companies are like Hagerty?

We have our car and truck through All State and just added Hagerty Insurance through them for the Mustang. I got the Hagerty Insurance for now while doing the resto as it'll be going together quickly at this point and it's simply to much money going into it not to be insured at this point. I did a stated value of 40,000 and the yearly cost was just under 300.00 bucks. Since it'll be a daily driver I'll have to switch it over to regular insurance next year. All State has quoted me just over 700.00 for the year with full coverage and the stated value minus collision.. 1100.00 with it. I found these prices to be fair and it'll allow me 8000 driving miles this year once its on the road.

You really need to talk to whatever company you go with about the "Stated Value" of the car. If not and its totaled.. you'll get the typical value of most 40 year old rust buckets.. maybe 1000.00 if your lucky. You pay a bit extra but if the car has been restored/modded its an important topic.

I heard Geico is doing classic car insurance now. Maybe they always did but never knew until recently. I need to find a different insurance because I'm sure Horace Man insurance wouldn't pay if they seen my car.

I don't have a chin spoiler anymore. Yes it is a 6 cyl, but it is a decently fast one.

I have pony rims, black turn signal hood, hood pins, chrome monte carlo bar, steeda tri-ax shifter handle, sony cd player, 2 6x9 cerwin vega 6x9s, 2bbl carb, DSII distributor, custom side stripes, custom console, red front corral, black turn signal housings in the front, and shelby drop. Probably have more, but I can't think of them.

It will get a rear seat delete sometime this year also.

I'll put its value at 10K which is under average retail according to NADA.

With 10K value it is 229 a year and with 6K value it is 184.

I bet that DSII dizzy and carb shaved bunch off that 0-60

I would put the value at a realistic number if you want to save money dont inflate the real value. I would think 5k would be a good choice.

I bought it for 5500 and have almost 2K in parts and mods.

The dizzy and carb definitely helped my 0-60. We just finished the tune on the carb after over 6 months of not having it tuned.

5,500 wow I have never seen a 6 cyl go for that much, at least not here in Ca.

It must be pretty special.

Yeah, that was almost 2 years ago too. It has only a little rust on the door and surface rust on the rear end and radiator support. It is an original #s matching 6cyl. Mostly original parts on it, engine was rebuilt 2 years before. Drove great, paint wasn't too bad looking.

PO bought it for 6250 and then spend around 2500 on engine rebuild. They took major loss with sell.
I'm 5th owner. 1st was in Florida, I don't know about second, 3rd was in Michigan, 4th was in Hoover, AL, and then I am the 5th. Only way I know this is because the 67 is on a website and on it the guy states the man was the 3rd owner.
