Default Shaved drip rails

While my car is at the body shop getting everything straight for a fresh paint job I have been contemplating having the drip rail shaved. I saw one recently and it looked really good.

Any other opinions out there?

From absolute trailer queen concours through restomod and beyond I have always been a supporter of build it as you want it. Just be real sure of what you want to do, especially if it will be difficult to return it to it's original shape. It could limit the available market if you decide later to sell your car. IIRC, the first Mustang that Shelby ran was a coupe and that had been done and the first one I saw that done belonged to Dallas Mustang. Got to admit that it does look good.

Exactly. I saw the Dallas Mustang car with the rails shaved and man it looks sharp!

I believe we just had a thread sometime last week regarding this exact same topic. A quick search should bring it up.

I'm shaving my drip rails and I'm happy with the way the car is looking.

I would only shave your rails if they are beyond repair. IMO I think the rails should be on the mustang. All in all its your build so its up to you.

I shaved my drip rails, they were still in good shape but I prefer the looks without them.

I took mine off and they were also still good. I think that it gives the car a cleaner look.

It's a personal preference, I don't like the look of them shaved.

is there any negative effect to shaving them, im thinkin about doing this on my 68 because they are rusted, but is there any negative effect, besides the fact that when you open to door and its rainin water will get in more easily i cant think of any bad effects
