1973 mustang ghia with an 84 windosr 351 engine.
what size are the nuts for the exhaust studs?
being in the UK we are struggling to find the info, everything here is in metric sizes.
any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

I usually just order them from the states (whatever they suggest for my application).
Being German I have no understanding for imperial systems. I hope some day I'll learn. if you have one (sample) just get yourself a vernier caliper and you can measure them then. we have a few cars in the club and whatever is left over goes into a big imperial bucket which saved my life a few times already.

Well so far I have been told three different sizes.
3/8 UNC
5/8 UNC
and now 5/16
I can see us having to get some calipers to measure them just to be sure. Its going to be a decent investment too because god only knows what else is missing.

i couldn't survive without a caliper (make sure that thing measures both mm and inch).
i found those digital ones handy. It's easy to read 10ths of mm of a caliper, but with inches I find it too much counting. I guess that's lack of experience. I always have to triplecheck if my reading is correct and to be extra sure I measure in mm and convert ...
