I originally painted my block yellow but decided to have it repainted with a charcoal color. Here it is yellow...

It's to make my hood scoop functional. The velocity stack raises the filter element so it pokes out the hood up into the hole I cut out that is covered by the scoop. Then the backing plate with the weather striping blocks the filter from the engine bay so it is getting cooler air from the outside instead of sucking warm engine bay heat... So there ya go...

Is it going in a boat, now that's funny right there...

JC6715 are you planning on a weekend driver with living in Oregon and having a functional hood scoop?
As to the OP I plan on a black block as well.

I like this color.. I paint all my engines like this now. All the red ones broke, the black ones were slow, and this is prettier than Ford blue, at least to me..

BTW that is a 700+hp Pontiac...

The parts me friend gave me; water pump, balancer, bell housing cover, and pulleys, were all that color, originally for a Falcon, until the scrap man stole his block...
