Default Could i?

is it possible to use a clutch pedal/brake pedal assembly from a fox body? would i have to use the master cylinder and a diff propotioning valve to do it? and i would assume i need to drill new holes for the mounting of the assembly. would this all work

with a few tools and a little imagination you can do anything? I think I understand why you want the clutch assy (for the hydraulic clutch?) but the question is why do you want to use the brake assy from a fox?

The "why" is high on my list...

There is likely an easier way to get to where you want to be.

While I don't KNOW this, I would imagine that it would take a LOT of fab work to do what you want, (that would be making parts, cutting, and welding).

There is a cool conversion to use a cable clutch set up (i.e. FOX), we used it on a 66.

okay well let me start over. i have an automatic trans car and i would like to do the 5.0/t-5 swap into it. where do i start with the transmission setup? if i am going to spend 500.00 on a clutch pedal assembly and cable then i will get the 68 clutch/brake pedal off ebay and then the cable conversion kit for 209.00. it would be easier and cheaper and wouldnt involve cutting and welding. to me it seems like a much easier approach.

I have Mustang Steve's set up on my 66 and it is a high quality set up. Unless you have experience fabricating (milling and welding) you are better off with his kit. The Fox clutch set up positions the cable over the brake pedal and your dash supports are in the way. It is easier and in the long run cheaper to weld up Steve's quadrant and use his adjuster (which is a work of art on its own). I also, got a late model mc from Steve to run my 4 wheel disc set up, which was very reasonably priced. Here are a couple of pictures:

You will also need to find a set of headers that clears the cable boss and allows clearance for the cable. It is a great set up and works really well.

Would that kit fit even if i have the EFI 5.0 swap in my car? and wouldnt it be cheaper to just get a used 68 clutch pedal/brakle assembly and buy clutch cable conversion kit?? thanks for all the replies. Great to know i have some help.

Vs buying the pedals and everything from Mustang Steve, it WOULD be cheaper to buy the conversion kit.

We used the "CK-165" kit for the 66, ($199.00) that modifies the clutch pedal we had already.

The conversion is pretty straight foreward and easy enough. The quadrent must be welded to the pedal, but this is a small issue. It would be cheap and easy enough to take the pedal to a welding shop once the quadrant is in position.

It ALWAYS sucks working under the dash, but other than being an agrivating SOB, it is not bad at all... (Take the drivers seat out, it will pay off in short order)
