Steering Wheel Recommendations?
Hello all,
I am currently in the process of trying to order parts for my interior. I am probably going to go with the regular black camera case for the instruments and for the upper dash. The A/C vents fill the center of the dash. I really want to get rid of the hideous old steering wheel and go with something more modern and a little smaller. I have heard nothing but bad stuff about most of the Grant wheels so I am searching for something better. Anyone have any ideas? Lets hear what you think! Thanks to all in advance.
Semper Fi,
Kris

my next steering wheel with definitely be a moto-lita with a cobra center cap. by far the best looking wheel ive ever seen
I just put a grant mohagandy with stainless spoke and mustang emblem that I received as a kit from NPD. Comes stained but w/o polyurethane coating. Steel wooled and put 8 coats of gloss on it. Came out pretty sweet.
My Grant sucks. I am on the 2nd install kit, the horn goes off by itself, the center cap pops off whenever it wants, it sparks like a bitch, and clicks as I turn it. The real wood looks great and it was cheap.
I wish I had spent the extra money and got a Mustang Deluxe Type Wheel.

I had a Grant wheel on my previous 70 Mustang and also on a 1970 Chevelle that I had. Never had any problems except as mentioned that the horn button would pop off occasionally but I glued it as well and didn't have any further problems. I'll be putting a Grant wheel in my current project because I've got too much other stuff to buy and can't justify spending more than what the Grant costs right now.
dunno who you heard all that from, but my Grant installed easily and looks nice. had a little problem with the cap wanting to come off on bumpy roads, but that was solved with a tiny dab of glue.

My 65 pony woodgrain wheel works great, and dresses up the entire car to another level. It was well worth the $200 I spent for this one time purchase, and no one really knows or cares that it's not a 69 wheel except rare Mustang fanatics. Grant wheels are a crapshoot. Many of them have mickey-mouse horn buttons that don't work right from the start (like my old one). The 65 pony Mustang wheel is highly recommended.

Im on my second grant wheel. My first on was from NPD and was complete garbage and a major waist of my time (the horn was a joke). I ended going with a sporty after market grant wheel that gave me ZERO problems. If I could do it again and the wife actually liked wood grain I would buy a Lecarra or Moto-Lita for sure. Best quality by far.
