66 stang AC
i live in phoenix Arizona.....needless to say it get to like a 10000000000000000000000000000000 degrees during the summer. i use my 66 witch has a 302 manual as a daily driver...Ive installed a center console with a map door thingy under the dash...i think it looks good but i know that the ac is usually in the center, ive seen pics where it is mounted where passengers feet go, well i must say that looks rather...well lame. i was wondering if anyone knows of a system that doesn't have that massive thing inside like that, mabye just some small vents....thanks

I have a non-A/C console too, so I'm going to get this system when I have the money.

Wait, you don't have adobe, but you can see a picture? Well, the pic I pointed out IS an original, non-custom interior of a 66 with a non-A/C console. Anyway, here is a pic of it on Mustangs Plus...

It's the same pic from the pdf file.
By-the-way, you should get adobe. It's a free download.

I live in the Phoenix area too. Unless someone lives here, no one can really understand how hot it really gets here. Hell, it's only May 6 and it's supposed to be 103 tomorrow.
I have a 68 with in-dash A/C. If I remember correctly, the 66 does not come with an in-dash option (factory installed a/c from the Ford plant). However, I think that there are kits that will duplicate it so that there are vents below each side of the dash (similar to the pic I'm going to attach of my interior). When I replaced my a/c parts, I did it through Nostalgic Air (http://www.nostalgicairparts.com). You can actually call them up and talk to the people there. They are friendly and seem pretty knowledgeable.
Another suggestion might be to talk with Randy or John at the Mustang Shop in Chandler. Although they might be a far more expensive alternative, they have an incredible level of knowledge and are usually more than willing to give advice. I'm sure with all the resto work they do, they can give you some great advice.
I am far from the most knowledgeable person in this forum; however, if I can be of any help, please feel free to PM me.
