I wouldn't get either of them for a classic. I got a vintage style shifter for my T5 that looks factory.

Assuming you mean shift lever, not shifter (the shifter is the part the lever attaches to), neither of those is going to work well, let alone look good.

Mustangs have a unique design in that the shifter comes up through the floor well forward of the passenger seat. This necessitates a long, angled shift lever so that you can still reach all gears while you're driving.

The only shift levers that are really going to work for you are the factory style and the replacement Hurst style, although you may be able to fab something up yourself if you're good at that kind of thing.

true, I just thought they looked unique. I'm probably going with the hurst style lift lever and the white shift ball

Your shift lever may be part of all the shift assembly. I have a factory equipped Hurst shifter and it is part of the assembly that bolts to the side of the transmission, meaning I can't take it out and bolt an aftermarket one in. If you go with the new style competition plus I think you can change them out.

I actually switched from the Hurst ball to the T handle over the weekend and love it. I like the classic look of the ball but the T handle is much better for quick shifting.

I would have to go with neither shifter too unless your interior is a complete modernized restomod interior, if not stick with the classic original look.

I like the shifter handle I got from Reenmachine, looks classic but with a little modern update. Classic look but puts the shifter in a real nice position after the t5 conversion. With the original looking black shifter ball with the 5 speed shift pattern.
Polished and Tall, he doens't make the standard height really anymore because no one was ordering them.
